From the Founder
I am Sanjog Mhatre - architecture photographer and founder of Towering Goals, based in Mumbai, India. My fascination and love for the architectural marvel that is the modern skyscraper- a testament to human endurance and ingenuity- knows no limits.
I use photography to express my borderline obsession with these structures - after all, we click what we love. The thrill of looking up at huge skyscrapers as well as the thrilling feeling of standing on the shoulders of these giants allows me to pour my heart and soul into capturing the essential beauty, the abstract soul of these megastructures.
It has been a long time since I used to look up at skyscrapers and take photos on a mobile phone out of sheer fascination. From clicking on phone and uploading to Instagram to photographing from the tops of 200 buildings, the fires of this passion for buildings evolved into Towering Goals- a serious architecture photography service specializing in capturing tall buildings reaching for the sky and wide views of the city skylines.
I look at buildings as if they're not inanimate lifeless structures, but as if they have a soul. The beating heart of a skyscraper, I believe, is modelled on its architectural design, the viewpoints by which one perceives them, and its orientation relative to its surroundings. This helps me to look at buildings and their architecture in my own way and perspective.
Utilizing dynamic equipment instructed by the client's requirements, I use these 3 aspects of the building's beating heart to capture it as elegantly as possible. Along with exceptional spatial awareness and an understanding of the technicalities of light and shadow, I bring to the table unique perspectives and a diversely distinct array of images to capture a building's elevation.

Sanjog shot several projects for us at Raheja Universal. He’s always been extremely passionate about his work, does a lot of pre-shoot research, understands deeply a lot about the project, which then reflects in his output. He will go the extra mile to get the best shots, even if it means risking his life to get on the edge of a 60th floor of a heavily under construction tower at night! At such a young age, I feel he’s become a true master in grasping and capturing through his lens some really unique perspectives of the architecture of this city. His work has always pleased and surprised us, and it definitely deserves international recognition.

After reaching out to Sanjog almost 5 years ago, I have been fortunate to work with him on shoots spanning Mumbai and Delhi. In this time I have seen his dedication to quality and his determination to tell the right story with every image that he captures grow. His photographs for UHA have spanned construction updates to allowing the creation of compositions of our architectural competition proposals to featuring as the largest print in our exhibition celebrating a decade of work across India. Sanjog continues to be a pleasure to work with, both as a hard-working professional and as a highly skilled, determined photographer. I look forward to our next opportunity to collaborate, and to seeing what heights he will reach chasing his goals.
